How to use this clock

  1. 1

Check the cards. The first card is your own time zone; the others are a default selection of major cities.

  2. 2

Add a city. Start typing a city, or any time zone name such as America/Phoenix, and pick it from the list.

  3. 3

Remove what you do not need. Your selection is saved in this browser only.

Example

When it is noon in New York on July 1, it is 5:00 PM in London and 1:00 AM the next day in Tokyo.

In early March the gap between New York and London is only 4 hours, because the US changes its clocks three weeks before the UK.

How it is calculated

Each clock reads the current instant from your device and converts it with your browser’s built-in time zone database, so UTC offsets and daylight saving time (DST) are applied automatically. A card is tagged “DST” while that zone is on daylight time.

The “ahead” and “behind” label compares the zone’s current UTC offset with yours. It can change during the year, because countries switch clocks on different dates and some do not switch at all.

Cities that share a time zone, such as Mumbai and Delhi, show the same time. If a city is missing, type its IANA time zone name instead.

Questions

Is the time taken from the internet?

No. It comes from your device’s clock, so it is only as accurate as that clock.
